The 5 Best Food At Dodger Stadium

Watching the Los Angeles Dodgers at home has its perks. You get to see the boys in blue play at the third oldest ballpark. At the ravine there is a center field pavilion to hang out it, a dugout club, the Lexus Diamond Club, and just good ‘ol fashioned seats at a baseball game. Regardless of where you sit or how you plan to enjoy the game, the food at Dodger Stadium is sure to satisfy.

1. Dodger Dogs

According to an article published by LA Weekly, the Dodger Dog dates back to the opening of Dodger Stadium. As the Dodgers moved from Brooklyn to their new Southern California home, the stadium began selling footlong hotdogs. The name was not catchy with fans and was later changed to the now famous Dodger Dog.

As detailed in the article, it is clear the Dodger Dog has gone through changes over the years. Some have worked, whereas, some have not. Many of the food dishes served at Dodger Stadium today are tried and true. With a choice in the classic Dodger Dog, there are also seasonal choices that can include pulled pork, nacho cheese, and grilled onions, just to name a few examples.

In addition to the original meat, there are also different variations such as the picante dog, which features a smoked sausage dog. Though the classic Dodger Dog hits the nostalgic chords, I love trying the different toppings.

2. Nachos

Whereas Dodger Dogs have always been a food staple at Dodger Stadium, nachos have become a popular item at ballparks. There is just something about that nacho cheese while watching baseball. Throughout the different seasons of Dodger baseball, there are different selections in nachos.

I have had every variation from ground beef, carne asada, and even pulled pork! Usually you are able to get jalapeƱos and you can ask for an extra cup of nacho cheese for a small price. I like to do this for those bottom chips that are usually naked after eating all the toppings.

3. Tacos

Eating tacos at Dodger Stadium was a first for me. As we checked out the new centerfield pavilion, we spotted La Taqueria. Of course, they have cold beer and tacos so we ran strait into line. Complete with cilantro, onions and lime, these carne asada tacos were your typical street tacos we have come to love living in California.

If this is your style, La Taqueria is located in the new centerfield pavilion at Dodger Stadium.

4. Pretzel

The salt drizzled on stadium pretzels are only surpassed by the cheese they are dipped in. It is gluttonous to eat one of these pretzels at Dodger Stadium and that is why they are one of my favorite foods. You see them spinning around at the concession stand and know how its warm bread will dip in melted cheese.

5. Ice Cream

At the conclusion of any Dodger game, I have to get soft serve ice cream. It is the only way to end the baseball game in my eyes. The soft serve is usually served in vanilla and chocolate. Seasonal variations may be available. (For example, I once saw soft serve with churros!)

Usually for a little up charge, you can get the ice cream served in a souvenir helmet cup, pictured above. Fun Fact: we keep these helmets and use them around the house. They are perfect to hold things (snacks, bobby pins, etc).

Hopefully your mouth is watering thinking about the food at Dodger Stadium. Some meals pair perfectly with a baseball game and make the experience complete. What is your favorite thing to eat at a game? Share below.
